CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE 2017 AASP SPECIAL ISSUE of the JOURNAL OF PACIFIC RIM PSYCHOLOGY: “Social Psychology of Social Change Part IV: The Asia-Pacific Forum” Special Issue Guest Editors: Allan B.I. Bernardo and James H. Liu The Asian Association of Social Psychology (AASP) has signed a contract with the Journal of Pacific Rim Psychology (JPRP) to produce five special issues from 2014-2018. JPRP is an SSCI listed, online only journal (2015 Impact Factor = 0.647) that is now OPEN-ACCESS, which makes it an ideal venue for AASP to showcase researchers and research programs that have both practical application and scientific merit in the area of social psychological aspects of social change in Asia and the Pacific. JPRP can be viewed online through the AASP members portal (login at http://asiansocialpsych.org/members+intranet and then click on the publications tab) Please have a look at the 2016 Special Issue (on a tab at the top of the JPRP page). As the 2017 AASP conference will be in the South Pacific (Auckland) with the theme of “Making a difference with Social Science”, our point of emphasis this year will be looking at innovative social change programmes and interventions across the Asia-Pacific Region. This includes Asia, the Pacific Islands, New Zealand, Australia, and the West Coast of the Americas. We invite submission of research papers on topics such as the social psychological processes and impact of internet access/social media, of regional and international migration, of climate change and environmental protection, of community development, reducing poverty and inequality, of demographic changes (including aging), of political movements and processes, of positive psychological and sociological approaches for societal development (including those making use of Asian philosophies or indigenous psychologies), and others. We are particularly keen on inviting submissions that are drawn from social or community intervention program and/or action research projects that have both useful messages to stakeholders in the community and contributions to the scientific understanding of social change. All submissions should be prepared following the guidelines of the APA Manual for Publications (6th edition). The submissions should be completed in the journal’s online submission site (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jprp). Inquiries about submission to the special issue should be directed to the Special Issue Editors (James Liu- j.h.liu@massey.ac.nz or Allan Bernardo allanbibernardo@umac.mo). The deadline for submission is April 30, 2017.
